Responsible Care® ISO 140001 Certification
Kensing was awarded the Responsible Care certification for its operations in Kankakee, IL, its global headquarters, and the largest of its 5 global manufacturing sites. Launched in the U.S. in 1988, Responsible Care® is the global chemical industry’s leading safety and sustainability initiative, driving continual improvement and supporting innovative progress in manufacturing operations and supply chain.
At its core, Responsible Care means working every year to protect the health and safety of people and the planet. It means taking action to ensure the business of chemistry is safe, both inside the facility and through the supply chain. Responsible care requires companies to conduct third-party audits to confirm their successful implementation of its requirements.

Our Commitment to RSPO
Palm kernel oil is an essential ingredient in many of our sulfates. But its heavy global demand, particularly in recent years, has been a source of significant environmental damage. That’s why we are a committed and active member of RSPO, an organization created to make sustainable palm oil, and only use palm-based specialty ingredients that are certified as sustainable.
LIVING WAGE SEAL: COMMITTED TO FAIR COMPENSATION
Kensing has been awarded the Living Wage Seal, for US operations, reinforcing our commitment to social responsibility and fair compensation. We ensure wages that cover essential needs and a decent standard of living. Kensing has a global goal of 100% employees being paid a living wage by 2030.
CDP SUPPLIER ENGAGEMENT ASSESSMENT (SEA) A LIST – 2024
Kensing has been recognized on the CDP 2024 Supplier Engagement Assessment (SEA) A List, earning a place among global leaders for supplier engagement on climate action. The assessment evaluates how effectively companies work with their supply chains to measure and reduce emissions, increase transparency, and build climate resilience. The CDP is widely regarded as one of the most trusted benchmarks for corporate climate leadership.

In 2025, Kensing received an A- rating (Leadership level) from the non-profit environmental organisation CDP for both its climate change and forests disclosures, along with a B rating (Management level) for its water disclosures. These results highlight Kensing’s strong commitment to transparent reporting and to proactively managing climate-, water-, and forest-related risks and opportunities.
